The Michaelmas and Lent edition of Queen’s Today has arrived! Read it online here.
This week we returned to in-person teaching – it's fantastic to have our pupils back in the College and we are thankful to our parents and staff members working to make this transition as smooth as possible. Following the Government Guidelines, pupils and staff members are tested throughout the week and are learning in their class ‘bubbles’.
Thank you to everyone who joined our ‘Lockdown Lecture’ series over the past half term, we were thrilled to host such incredible speakers, including award-winning BBC journalist and broadcaster, Samira Ahmed, and former England Rugby Captain, Catherine Spence to mark International Women’s Day. We hope to continue hosting similar online events for our alumnae in the coming months and hopefully we can soon return to in-person events.
For International Women’s Day, we decided to highlight the work of some of our trailblazing alumnae, these Old Queens are excelling in the world of filmmaking, business, design, tech and more. You can read their stories on our Instagram highlights here.
Our teachers arranged several talks and activities to complement online teaching and ensure pupils were engaged beyond the virtual classroom. We held careers talks over Zoom and pupils took part in an interactive poetry session with Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan (pictured above, bottom right), who shared her work and helped pupils write their own poems.
We hope you are safe and well and enjoy the latest edition of Queen’s Today, we would love to hear your feedback.
