Alumnae |
On Saturday 8th February, pupils in our choirs and Orchestra joined forces with members of the wider Queen's community to put on a spectacular charity concert. This year, we chose to support the mental health charity Mind (Central and West London) alongside our Music Bursary Fund. Highlights of the 'Heroes and Villains'-themed programme included 'Defying Gravity' (with Esha singing Elphaba), Chamber Choir's rendition of 'Zero to Hero' from Hercules, and 'Duel of the Fates' from Star Wars. It was wonderful to see everyone having so much fun throughout the day!
Seven members of the Old Queens community took part in the day, including Hadassah (OQ 2024), who shared her thoughts on the event:
“It was brilliant to take part in Come & Sing this year, as it was always one of my favourite musical events whilst at school! I loved having the chance to reconnect with other alumnae and perform in the concert, especially for such a good cause. I’m planning to come back each year for the concert, to keep in touch with Queen’s and catch up with the music department. I loved music at school and it played a huge part in my life, so it’s wonderful that I have this opportunity to reconnect with friends and teachers and remain a part of the Queen’s community!”
It's not too late to donate to both excellent causes if you haven't yet been able to by visiting the "Support Queen's" page on OQ Connect.
