Alumnae |
In November we hosted the second instalment of our Alumnae Networking Series. The evening was abuzz with energy as past students gathered to share insights and inspiration, with a focus on careers in media and journalism. The evening provided an invaluable opportunity for alumnae at all stages of their career to share their current projects and discuss the obstacles of the industry, all while enjoying the nostalgia of being back at Queen's.
The evening opened with a fantastic talk from Gaby Bastyra (OQ ), who shared her experience of working in documentary making with our I Senior class, as part of the I Senior Lecutre Series. Gaby's talk provided an exciting insight into the different roles within her field, and possible career paths students could take. She also shared some clips of her fantastic work with the students, covering topics from urban bee keeping to comedy skits featuring talking animals.
After the I Senior lecture, alumnae arrived at Queen's and started the evening with a tour of the school, reliving memories and seeing what had changed (and what hadn't!) around the school building. We loved hearing their stories of exams, friendships, and favourite traditions from their school days.
All then gathered in the Waiting Room for an hour of insightful conversation, and it was fantastic to see such a varied range of careers and fields represented. We are very lucky to have such to have such a wealth of expertise within our alumnae community, and loved seeing most established alumnae share their advice and tips with younger alumnae embarking on their careers.
Our next Alumnae Networking Evening will focus on Health, Wellbeing and Medicine, taking place on Tuesday 21st January.
